ITV Coronation Street star's heartbreak at death of family member as they share emotional photo

Former Coronation Street star Chris Fountain took to social media to share an emotional tribute to his grandad who tragically passed away.
Chris, who played the role of Tommy Duckworth, captioned the snap: "Goodnight old pal," alongside a broken heart emoji on the post alongside his grandfather who was an important figure in his life with the pair often enjoying days out together.
The pair enjoyed a day trip on the Northern Belle train in September, according to reports in the Mirror, as the 36-year-old soap star shared a string of snaps together from spending quality time.
He wrote: "Me and my best pal, my Grandad, had a chuffing lovely day out on the Northern Belle Train. Creating more priceless memories. My grandad has always been my best mate whom I cherish dearly and I absolutely love our trips away together."
The sad news of losing his grandad comes after Chris shared fears of his own health candidly admitting his concerns of having 'another stroke' one year after he was rushed to hospital with a life-threatening blood clot following a seizure at home.
The soap star had an impressive career as Justin Burton on Hollyoaks and Tommy Duckworth on Corrie. However he recently explained that being fired from Coronation Street over a dark toned rap music video left his mental health spiralling.
His career was damaged in 2013 after footage emerged of him performing music under stage name ‘The Phantom’ which included misogynistic rap lyrics and references to rape.
