Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt in Coronation Street, is back on the cobbles. Rumours were swirling over the summer that Lucy was set to return to the ITV soap, three years after Bethany left Weatherfield for London.
Tina O'Brien seemed to confirm Lucy's return when she celebrated her 40th birthday on set with her on-screen family. She shared a photo of herself with Helen Worth, Sue Nicholls, Jack P Shepherd, Ben Price and Julia Goulding, all posing behind a birthday cake.
In the caption, Tina hinted at Lucy's return, writing: "We'll get a full one soon @paddybever and @lucyfallonx," referring to Lucy and Max Turner actor Paddy Bever. Lucy later confirmed the news and said she's thrilled about it. She teased her return on Instagram with a post saying: "Bethany's...
back??" Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Lucy shared her feelings about being back on set. "It feels really good," she said. "It's really nice to just come back and be with the people that I' was so used to working with for over five years." Despite her excitement, Lucy admitted she was nervous on her first day back.
"My first day back I actually just had scenes with Tina [O'Brien, who plays Sarah Platt], which was nice but I was really, really nervous. It was fine because I know pretty much everyone and I've kept in contact with a lot of them so that wasn't the scary part." Lucy first popped up in Corrie in 2015, and it seems she was always destined for the spotlight. From just two years old, she was learning to sing, dance and act at the Barbara Jackson Theatre Arts Centre.
