Good Morning Britain is welcoming pop icon Duncan James as the new guest entertainment presenter on weekday mornings, and he's "super excited" but "nervous" to be joining the team, as the singer opened up on his amazing new showbiz role. Former band member Duncan, who previously opened up on pretending to date famous stars such as Geri Halliwell before coming out as gay, will be starting on the daytime TV show from Monday 14 August, and he's gearing up to fill in for long-time staple presenter Richard Arnold.
Sharing his thoughts on the job and his approach to early mornings and the nerve-wracking nature of live TV, the 45 year old star was over the moon the news has been revealed. "I’m super excited to be joining the Good Morning Britain family," he said.
"I love the show and I’ve been on loads of times, not only with Blue but also when I was doing Chicago with Alexandra Burke, but this time it’ll be different with me presenting. "Being on the other side of the desk, it’ll definitely be different and a little bit nerve-racking but that’s what we do as entertainers, we’re always trying new things and doing new challenges, which keeps the adrenaline and excitement going." Duncan shared his fears that he's definitely not an "early morning person" and does much better staying up late night at night, but he's going to persevere with going to bed earlier.
When that fails, the pop star said he'll be turning to caffeine and will likely have about three coffees before going on air. As a self-confessed RuPaul's Drag Race super fan, the TV personality and singer is excited to delve into another element of entertainment with reporting on all the latest news and celebrity twists and turns.
