Gary Lineker admits he has been impressed with Rasmus Hojlund at Manchester United after, initially, suggesting he might struggle to make an impact in his debut campaign.
Having allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to depart mid-season, United waited to settle on their replacement for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. Harry Kane was, at first, earmarked as a primary target, but United side-stepped that move before snapping-up Hojlund for £72million from Italian side Atalanta.
The 20-year-old opened his account for the club in the Champions League against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night. While that remains his only strike in United colours, Lineker is convinced the Denmark prospect will improve his record as the term goes on.

Speaking about the striker on Match of the Day on Saturday night, host Lineker said: "I've watched him in the first two or three games that he's played. He's only scored the one goal so far - and that was in Europe - but he looks to me like he will score goals. I like his movement."
On the recent Rest Is Football podcast, Lineker also said: "Even at the weekend, I liked some of his movements and the fact he was attacking space in the box."
High praise from one of England's greatest-ever goal-getters, but Lineker was not initially convinced that Hojlund would make the difference at United this season. While the 62-year-old MOTD presenter admitted he had not seen too much of the ex-Atalanta frontman before his blockbuster switch to the Premier League, Lineker initially appeared uneasy about the move becoming a successful one.
