Zlatan Ibrahimovic has questioned whether Erik ten Hag possesses the right credentials to manage "big stars and egos" within the Manchester United dressing room.
The popular former United forward - who retired this summer - scored 29 goals during his stay at Old Trafford and, like the current manager, also has Ajax connections. Ten Hag steered United back into the top-four last season and helped the club to end their six-year trophy hoodoo in the Carabao Cup.
However, amid public fallouts with Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho during his time in the dugout, Ibrahimovic has offered up his take on the Dutchman.

During an interview with The Sun newspaper, he said: "Coming from Ajax to United as he did is a big difference. I have been in both clubs, you have a different kind of discipline.
"Ajax is a talented club. They have the best talents in the club. They don't have big stars.
"What is the experience of this coach? Young talents, he comes to United, it is a different mentality. Their players there are supposed to be big stars. I don't think you give the same treatment."
He continued: "How much time do you give a coach? It depends on the owners, what they want, but if you listen to the fans, you don't have a lot of time, because they want to win, and I understand them because they are used to winning and they want to still win."
Ibrahimovic, 42, called time on his glittering career this summer. He made 53 appearances for United in nearly two years at the club - between 2016 and 2018 - scoring 29 goals and registering 10 assists.
