Emmerdale star Tony Audenshaw has admitted the exit of one of his long-standing co-stars was emotional after they left the soap in tragic scenes. During the New Year's Day trip to the Dales, viewers were heartbroken to discover Bob's son Heath Hope had died.
The teen, alongside his twin sister Cathy and their friend Angelica King, had decided to steal Wendy Posner's car to get to a New Year's Eve party they wanted to attend, which their parents had refused to take them to.
Viewers saw them in the car with Heath encouraging his sister to put her foot down as it was taking them too long to get to the party and Cathy had decided to take them through the back roads, which were like country lanes and pitch black. They had a near miss, seemingly with Aaron Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd as they were out stealing cars.

But soon, in tragic scenes, Emmerdale viewers saw Bob and Wendy find her car crashed off the side of the road. Nicola and Jimmy King and Brenda Walker desperately waited for updates back at home after it was revealed to them what Heath, Cathy and Angelica had done.
Soon, they arrived at the hospital alongside Brenda's partner Eric Pollard. After seeing Angelica and Cathy first, Brenda asked about Heath and Wendy encouraged her to find Bob who has spoken to the doctors. She approached a shell-shocked Bob who then broke the news to Brenda that Heath had died, leaving them both sobbing in each other's arms.
The tragedy means an exit for Hope actor Sebastian Dowling, who is also the real-life twin of on-screen sister Cathy, played by Gabrielle Dowling.
