EastEnders star Max Bowden, who plays Ben Mitchell, will be leaving the soap after four years. The actor, 28, who has played the role of Ben on the hit BBC soap since 2019, is leaving EastEnders next year. His final scenes are thought to air in the coming weeks, a show insider revealed to the Daily Star.
His departure has reportedly left the show's bosses unsure whether to keep the character of Ben Mitchell in the soap at all. Max has been the sixth actor to play Phil Mitchell’s son. A BBC insider told the Daily Star: "It has been a bit of a disaster but he has now left and won’t be coming back.
Max came in and did a grand job in the role and fans did love him, but that is officially the end of the line for him on the soap." A spokesperson for the BBC said: "Max will be leaving EastEnders next year. We wish him all the best for the future."
