Emmerdale's original Gabby Thomas star now as she's unrecognisable years after soap exit

When most people think of Emmerdale’s business-savvy maven Gabby Thomas, the first face that springs to mind is usually Rosie Bentham, who has been delighting audiences as the character since 2016 and currently portrays the young mum in the hit ITV soap. However, long before Rosie took over the reins as the daughter of Bernice Blackstock ( Samantha Giles ) and Ashley Thomas ( John Middleton ), two other stars actually played the role of Gabby first.
Originally, Jemma Giles played Gabby as a baby following the character’s introduction back in 2001, but unfortunately the youngster never managed to quite settle into life on a busy TV set, and was later replaced by another young star, Annelise Manojlovic who famously played the character from 2001 up until 2015. Now, nine years on since her departure from the soap, it’s safe to say that Annelise looks rather different, having grown up just like her on-screen alter-ego has in the past few years.
In one Facebook post shared in 2023, the talented young star could be seen sporting a glamorous new look as she wore an elaborate updo and dress adorned with pearls in a very chic, but mature ensemble for a special occasion with her pal. Opting for a full face of makeup, Annelise added a slither of silver eyeshadow to her lids to brighten her eyes, before adding a pop of colour to the look with a slick of pink lipstick that perfectly highlighted her smile.
The stunning look was certainly a far cry from the school uniform many stars had last seen her in, when she played the school girl on the soap, but it did give eagle eyed fans a chance to imagine how her version of Gabby may have looked now if she had continued in the role to adulthood.
