EastEnders' fans reckon that Max Branning, played by actor Jake Wood, is on his way back to the soap. The theory emerged as Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa), Max's eldest daughter, stumbled upon a critical clue. In an episode aired on Monday, 8th January, Lauren was thrilled to be reunited with her son Louie after being falsely accused of smuggling drugs.
She caught up with old flame Peter Beale, who begged her to extend her stay in Walford. Lauren agreed initially but switched gears soon after she discovered Penny Branning, her own cousin, was the actual culprit behind the drug operation. Deciding to pack up and leave Walford with her little boy by her side, their departure was interrupted by Sonia Fowler, another of Laurens cousins, with some explosive news.
Enthusiastically tapping on the taxi window, Sonia revealed to Lauren: "I don't know if I should be doing this, but I want you to know, in fact you need to know you have got another sister in Walford." Long-time followers of the popular BBC One series will remember that Linda Carter and Max Branning have a baby girl, Annie. However, Max, who left Walford on February 19, 2021 after an ill-fated romance with Linda, is clueless about his little daughter. Now, viewers are predicting an exciting comeback for Max when he discovers his secret daughter.
On social media, one fan speculated: "@E20AfterDarkdo you think Max will be back by Thursday too! # EastEnders ". Fans are shouting out for Max and Tanya to return to EastEnders after lots of mentions. One said: "Max and Tanya mentions coming out left right and centre I need them back NOW #EastEnders".
