Striker Viktor Gyökeres has no intentions of leaving Sporting Lisbon in the January transfer window amid ongoing speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.
Reports coming out of Europe over the last few days have credited United with an interest in the Swedish international ahead of the transfer window opening. Gyökeres has been in sparkling form since joining Sporting from Championship side Coventry City in the summer.
He has scored 18 goals in 21 appearances for the Portuguese heavyweights. He has also registered eight assists. He joined Sporting on a five-year deal for a fee reportedly in the region of £18.5million. His contract, however, features a €100m (£86.7m) release clause.

It means any club interested in signing the Swede will have to stump up a lavish amount of money to secure his signature. However, Gyökeres has no plans to flee the Portuguese capital anytime soon.
"I think it's a bit like when Sporting came in to sign me," he told Record. "I'm very happy here and I don't care about any interested parties at the moment.
"I'm enjoying every day here and not thinking about what's going on around me. Yes, there's talk of big clubs, but for now it's just news. That's all."
Asked directly if he will stay at Sporting in January, he added: "Yes. This is where I want to stay."
United, who brought 2023 to a close with a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, are still short on firepower and in an ideal world would benefit from signing another striker in January. However, the Reds are not renowned for spending big-money mid-season.
