Former Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong has spoken about his future at Barcelona.
The 26-year-old has been a regular in Barcelona’s starting XI since signing from Ajax in 2019. De Jong has made a total 195 appearances for the Catalan giants, winning the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey, though he will be targeting greater success under club legend Xavi.
He has continued to be one of the first names on the team sheet this season, making 12 starts after recovering from an ankle injury. For large parts of the summer transfer window in 2022, though, it appeared his future may lie elsewhere.

De Jong is contracted to Barca until 2026 but that did not prevent Dutch outlet NOS from asking about United’s interest and the chances of him testing himself in a new league in the future.
“Possibly. But I'm very satisfied at Barca. It's always difficult to say,” De Jong said, as relayed by the Daily Mail. “For now, I feel good here. I am in the club where I always wanted to be, where I dreamed."
