There is the chance of widespread overnight frosts and a risk of snow across parts of Scotland this week, according to Met Office meteorologists.
We reported earlier today the Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for northern areas of Scotland and some parts of England for snow and ice.
Forecasters have said cold air billowing in from northern Scandinavia has turned the air much chillier in the UK, with temperatures during the day struggling to stay above freezing.
Temperatures are set to plummet to -8C this week, as the warning for snow and ice will run from 5pm today, until 11am on Wednesday, November 29.
WXCharts weather maps show snow will hit the Central Belt of Scotland by Wednesday, with temperatures dipping to -5C by the weekend.
A mixture of rain and snow will billow over Scotland next week as well, with -5.5 expected by December 4, and almost 3cm of snow per hour by Tuesday, December 5.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Neil Armstrong said: "There has been some uncertainty in the atmospheric weather patterns for the coming days, however, confidence in the forecast is improving and there is a reducing chance of snow for southern areas of the UK, although there is still a chance we may see some sleety wintry showers over higher ground in areas such as Dartmoor or Exmoor.
"Northern and northeastern areas of the UK in the moist north / northeasterly airflow continue to see a chance of snow or sleet and yellow snow and ice National Severe Weather Warnings have been issued."
