Heavy rain and strong winds are expected to arrive in Scotland from tomorrow evening after a weekend of snowfall.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain on midnight on Thursday until 6pm, with downpours expected across several areas including Strathclyde, Perth and Kinross and Grampian and Ayrshire.
Meanwhile, a separate weather warning for ice has been issued on Tuesday across most of Edinburgh and Fife, with wintry showers leading to slippy surfaces.
The Met Office has warned that rain will lash down for most of Thursday with a risk of flooding and disruption, alongside strong southeasterly winds.
Forecasters say some snowfall is expected to fall overnight across higher ground, but this should soon turn to rain which will then thaw any lying snow. It comes just days after Scotland was hit with widespread snowfall with weather warnings issued and temperatures dipping as low as -12.5C.
Scots are being warned over floods that could cause a 'danger to life', with homes and businesses at risk of being flooded or damaged. Drivers are being urged to take care on the roads, with difficult conditions expected.
The Met Office forecast reads: "Heavy rain is expected to arrive early on Thursday and then persist for much of the day. Whilst some snow is expected to fall initially over higher ground, this should tend to turn to rain which will then steadily thaw lying snow. 30-50 mm of rain is likely to fall widely with potential peaks over hills of 70-100 mm.
"Rain will be accompanied by strong southeasterly winds. Further heavy rain is possible in similar areas on Friday but this aspect is currently unclear."
