Former midfielder Paul Scholes failed to keep his emotions in check after Manchester United came from behind to beat Aston Villa 3-2 at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.
Trailing 2-0 at half-time, United were on course for a third defeat in their last four Premier League outings. However, two goals from Alejandro Garnacho and a first in the league from Rasmus Hojlund sealed an impressive comeback.
United made the most of Villa's decision to maintain a high defensive line, regularly exploiting spaces and getting in behind their defensive rearguard. Garnacho caused them no shortage of problems and was only denied a hat-trick because of VAR.

Considering the Reds, at the point of half-time, had gone more than seven hours without scoring a single goal, their chances of producing a comeback were slim. To their credit, though, they rallied following the restart and got nothing more than what they deserved after a spirited second half showing.
And the relief of getting back to winning ways, it seemed, was all too much for Scholes, who could not resist the temptation of sharing an X-rated message on his Instagram page following the full-time whistle. Sharing a video United had posted of Hojlund doing a piece to camera, Scholes, on his Instagram Story, posted: "Thank f*** for that!!!"
After such a disappointing run of form that had failed to produce so much as a goal in recent weeks, United will be hoping that the manner in which they overcame Villa will be the springboard for a much-needed turning point in their campaign. They are next in action on Saturday, travelling to the City
