A weather warning has been issued for much of the UK including parts of Manchester from tomorrow (Thursday), as strong winds of up to 60mph are expected in some areas. The weather forecast for Greater Manchester from tomorrow suggests Thursday will experience higher winds than the rest of the week, reaching around 25mph.
And while the gusts slightly drop on the days following, they are then set to increase to over 20mph again on Christmas Day. There is also going to be heavy rain during this week, with things eventually settling by Boxing Day (Tuesday), where we could see some sunny spells.
The Met Office says: "With low pressure dominating the outlook the UK will see some potentially disruptive weather with strong winds and periods of rain this week. A notably deep area of low pressure will track to the north of the UK over the Norwegian Sea through Wednesday night and into Thursday. This is expected to bring very strong winds and heavy showers to a large portion of the UK, with a Yellow National Severe Weather Warning covering Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northern England and the north of Wales."

With Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Paul Gundersen, adding: “From late Wednesday into Thursday, strong winds are likely to develop across a large area of the UK. We’ve issued a large yellow warning area where there’s a potential for some impacts, but gusts of 50-60mph are possible for large parts of central and northern areas of the UK.
