Christmas Eve weekend is here and it looks to be starting out with characteristically Mancunian weather as the festivities begin. Here is the weather forecast for the weekend, and the weather expected to roll in on Christmas Day and Boxing Day over Greater Manchester.
Today, December 23, is set to feature wind and cloud with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. The rest of the day looks cloudy and blustery, according to the Met Office, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Rain will become heavier and more persistent from the north into the evening.

This evening, rain continues to spread southeast through the evening, turning heavy at times. It will remain windy, particularly along Irish Sea coasts and over high ground. The temperature will feel mild, with minimum temperature of 9 °C.
There will be a mild and breezy start to Christmas Eve with heavy rain clearing southeast through the morning. A few brighter spells are possible in the afternoon with some scattered showers, says the Met Office. There will be a maximum temperature of 13 °C.
The Met Office says there will be a breezy start to Christmas Day with scattered showers, and rain becoming widespread later. It will be followed by drier and brighter spells on Boxing Day, then rain returning for Wednesday.
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Steven Keates said: “It’s a windy weekend for many, with some heavy rain expected too, especially in the west,
