Martinez breaks injury silence
Lisandro Martinez has described his extended period on the sidelines with injury as 'really tough'. Martinez fractured his metatarsal in the 2-2 Europa League draw with Sevilla on April 13 and he did not play again until the pre-season friendly win over Leeds United on July 12
The centre-back aggravated his foot issue against Arsenal on September 3 but managed to play through the pain barrier before it was decided that surgery was again required which he underwent in October. He's been absent since then, although he recently returned to light training at United's Carrington training complex and could return by the end of January.
