Mist and fog is rolling into Greater Manchester and the north west this weekend. The weather forecast for the weekend looks set to be largely clear with some sunny spells, but there will be areas of mist, fog, and freezing fog and the January conditions continue.
The Met Office has forecast a 'bright and largely dry weekend', however, it has warned that the temperature will be 'feeling cold' as temperatures plummet overnight tonight (Saturday January 6). The Met Office has said that today marks a 'pleasant start to the weekend with a good number of sunny spells after any early mist patches gradually clear during the morning'.
The rest of today promises that 'winds are remaining light but feeling rather cold. Maximum temperature 6°C.'

Parts of Greater Manchester are expected to see temperatures as low as -1C, according to current Met Office forecasts. Boroughs such as Oldham and Rochdale will see temperatures at -1C this weekend, with surrounding areas staying close to 0C.
The UKHSA said: “A brisk easterly wind developing across the south over the weekend will make it feel much colder, with the added wind chill. Temperatures are likely to be a few degrees below average, across much of the UK, especially overnight, with more widespread frosts than of late.
“Ice is likely to be an issue for many given the very wet ground in most areas. It is probably this cold spell may last
