Manchester City defender Callum Doyle has joined Leicester City on loan for the 2023/24 season.
The 19-year-old joins up with former Blues academy coach Enzo Maresca, who was appointed Foxes boss in June. Doyle spent last season on loan at Coventry, helping them to the Championship play-off final, where he featured for 115 minutes prior to the penalty shoot-out loss.
He tallied 46 appearances for the Sky Blues and will continue his EFL career at the King Power Stadium. Upon signing, the England Under-20 international said: “It’s great to come to work in a place like this.
“I’ve worked with Enzo before and won the Under-23s Premier League title with him. He improved me a lot so it’s good to work with him again.

“What’s on everyone’s mind right now is obviously to get the club back where it belongs. This season, with the squad that we have, I think we’ll do really well.”
Doyle, who joined City in 2014 and signed a new four-year deal in January, has yet to make his senior debut for his parent club. He had his first taste of first-team action while on loan at Sunderland during the 2021/22 season.
The teenager featured 44 times as he helped the Black Cats achieve promotion from League One via the play-offs. Coventry came calling the following summer and he went on to make an impression on boss Mark Robins, who sang his praises last season.
He said: “I think he’s a really talented player who has everything he needs to have a brilliant career in the game. Technically he’s very, very good and he’s learning the other bits and pieces.
