Mikel Arteta has promised his side will learn from their losses in pre-season so they ensure they suffer it as rarely as possible next season.
Arsenal are gearing up to improve on their outing last season in which battled Manchester City for the title and were favourites to win the Premier League at one stage but eventually faded away. To try and finish one better in 2024, the Gunners have spent big in the transfer window.
They beat City in the race for Declan Rice but to a great cost as it took a £105million deal for West Ham to finally let their star player leave. Kai Havertz was brought in from Chelsea while versatile defender Jurrien Timber was signed from Ajax.
It appears to be a good summer of business for the Londoners but there have been mixed fortunes so far in pre-season. Arsenal drew their first friendly of the summer 1-1 with FC Nurnberg before thrashing Wayne Rooney's MLS All Stars 5-0.

However, they then suffered defeat at the hands of Manchester United thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho. Though it's a game without consequence, Arteta still didn't like the feeling of losing and wants his team to learn from their mistakes.
"That I hate to lose, and that we all hate to lose," he said. "That’s the biggest lesson. I don’t like the feeling I have right now. The boys have to train right now thinking how we are going to be better to win the next match."
Arsenal will have to lose as few games as possible once the season begins if they are to have any chance of overtaking the dominant City. Arteta believes he learned enough from the loss to take forward into the campaign.
