However, they then suffered defeat at the hands of Manchester United thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho. Though it's a game without consequence, Arteta still didn't like the feeling of losing and wants his team to learn from their mistakes.
"That I hate to lose, and that we all hate to lose," he said. "That’s the biggest lesson. I don’t like the feeling I have right now. The boys have to train right now thinking how we are going to be better to win the next match."
Arsenal will have to lose as few games as possible once the season begins if they are to have any chance of overtaking the dominant City. Arteta believes he learned enough from the loss to take forward into the campaign.
