The Dutchman's role is under increasing scrutiny after overseeing a disastrous start to the season, with 12 defeats from 24 games and a daunting trip to Anfield to face Liverpool this weekend. Any decision on his future is likely to be delayed until Ratcliffe's stake in the club is confirmed, with the deal granting INEOS oversight of the football side of the business.
While Ten Hag believes he retains the backing of the United board at the moment and is confident he can turn the club's fortunes around, he hasn't been involved in any meetings with INEOS representatives and insists he is focused on his day-to-day work, while other figures at the club have been dealing with the strategic review, announced in November 2022, and the Glazers' attempts to bring investment into the club.
