Emmerdale actress Paige Sandhu says she ‘feels sorry’ for evil murderer Meena

Emmerdale’s evil serial killer Meena Jutla has already claimed four victims, with another two characters’ lives currently hanging in the balance after her latest antics. But the actress who plays menacing Meena, Paige Sandhu, has now revealed she ‘feels sorry’ for her ITV soap alter-ego.
Speaking during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning, Paige told hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary that despite Meena’s recent revenge against Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), she can’t help but understand elements of her character. She explained: "The thing is with Meena, she actually has a line when she says, 'my problem is that I'm in love with being in love.'" Paige continued: "I don't think Meena's capable of feeling love the way that you and I can, but there is a truth in that." "She falls in love with a guy and then wants to possess him, control him and have all of his attention. Eventually that doesn't work because it's just not healthy, and he moves on and she suffers." "She feels like, 'Why is this guy cheating on me or leaving me?' This has happened so many times that now it's sort of the last straw." "She wants to make Dawn and Billy suffer the way that she's suffered." As Alison observed, "You've got to feel sorry for her really, haven't you?", Paige agreed, saying: "I mean, I do." However, the soap villain actress then quickly added of the viewers: "But I think probably most people don't."
