EastEnders ’ newest addition Aaron Thiara is set to shake things up in Albert Square over the summer. Aaron's character Ravi Gulati is set to be released from prison on the BBC One soap in the coming months, after making his debut on the show on Monday night. Ravi will meet fellow inmate Phil Mitchell – played by Steve McFadden – as Phil turned to him for help after making an enemy in jail.
However, Ravi has his own connection to Walford as he later quizzes Phil for information about Kheerat Panesar, played by Jaz Deol. It will be revealed that Ravi is the son of Panesar family friend Ranveer, but he may have sinister intentions in the Square. Despite Ravi’s seemingly charming and charismatic personality, not all is as it seems as BBC One viewers will soon discover that he is willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants.
Over the summer, Ravi will leave prison and reunite with the Panesars, but not everyone is pleased to see him. Speaking about joining EastEnders, Thiara said: “My heart is filled with immense gratitude to be joining such an iconic show, working alongside a stellar cast and a remarkable production team. The actor admitted he was “very proud” to be joining the show with such a thrilling and unpredictable character.
