EastEnders set for huge format shake-up this summer

EastEnders is about to have a major shake-up throughout the summer in how the show is broadcast. The BBC One soap will be released on BBC iPlayer every week to avoid clashing with sporting events such as Wimbledon. EastEnders will debut on the streaming service on June 27 until mid-August and all six episodes for the week will be available at 6am on Monday mornings.
It will allow viewers to watch the soap when it suits them if they want to tune into the other summer programmes. However, they can also watch the show on BBC One in its usual time slot if they don’t want to catch the alternative sports.
