It has been reported that EastEnders bosses are in talks about Jessie Wallace’s future on the show after she was arrested. The 50-year-old actress was arrested over the weekend after she swore at a police office and kneed him in the groin. Jessie, who plays Kat Slater on the BBC One soap, was then arrested after the assault that took place outside a nightclub early on Sunday morning.
It has been reported that EastEnders bosses were only aware of the incident when the story hit the media and now they are in talks about her future on the show. A source told The Sun: “She clearly hoped this wouldn’t come out and didn’t want the production team to know about it, which may explain why she was so quick to accept the conditional caution and avoid a public court hearing. "At first she played down the claims, but pictures and videos as well as onlookers tell a much more serious tale and one that the BBC are very concerned by.They’re considering all options.” OK! has approached the BBC for a comment.The soap star had been at a Madness concert on Saturday night in Suffolk, before heading out to the Flex night club in Bury St Edmunds. At around 2am, Jessie and a man who is believed to be her boyfriend were seen arguing with police officers.
She launched into a wave of verbal insults towards the officer, who she told to “f*** off you fat c***” before allegedly assaulting him physically. One bystander described it as “truly shocking behaviour” and added: “She was out of control. It was worse than anything Kat Slater has done.
