Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has confirmed that Michael Olise has signed a new four-year contract, with the club fighting off transfer interest from Manchester City and Chelsea.
City have been linked with a move for Olise this summer, following the £30million departure of Riyad Mahrez to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli. Pep Guardiola had identified the 21-year-old as one of several options, alongside Jeremy Doku of Rennes.
There has been some confusion regarding a reported £35m release clause inserted into Olise's contract. Earlier this week, the Athletic suggested that was present amid reports that Chelsea had activated it and expected to sign the French youth international imminently.

However, any potential suitors were dealt a shock blow on Thursday afternoon when Parish took to social media to announce the signing of a new deal.
Alongside a picture of Olise signing the contract, Parish wrote: "I’m absolutely delighted to announce @m.olise has decided to commit his future to Crystal Palace football club and this afternoon signed a new four-year deal with the club."
Manager Roy Hodgson added: "It's the best possible news we could have. The decision has been his [Olise's]. I must congratulate Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman on a fantastic job."
Olise was widely expected to leave Palace this summer, with both Chelsea and City able to offer far higher wages while the latter have Champions League football to look forward to. His decision to stay at Selhurst Park came as a huge surprise.
Hodgson has implored Parish to do his all to keep Olise and Eberechi Eze on board, especially after losing Wilfried Zaha to Galatasaray earlier this summer.
