RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff has confirmed Dani Olmo will not be leaving the club this summer, amid transfer links with Manchester City.
The Treble winners have agreed a £55.5m fee for 21-year-old Stade Rennais winger Jeremy Doku in their hunt for a replacement for Riyad Mahrez. Olmo had previously been tipped to follow in the footsteps of Josko Gvardiol and swap Leipzig for Manchester.
It prompted boss Marco Rose to comment on the speculation after his side’s German Super Cup win over Bayern Munich. “There are too many rumours. At some points it's enough,” he said.
“We lost many players in the end I need a team to play football with. As far as Olmo to City goes, I could say ‘never ever’ but I won’t say it.”

Now, Leipzig chief Mintzlaff has gone a step further by saying he will outright refuse any offers that land on his desk for Spain international Olmo. “Dani Olmo will be part of the Leipzig squad, no matter who is interested,” he told German newspaper BILD.
This comes after the player himself indicated he was in no rush to push for an exit to City. Speaking to the same outlet over the weekend, he said: “There is nothing [in the rumours]. I’m fully focused on the task in Leipzig, the Bundesliga, the Champions League and the cup.
"Man City are a big club - one of the biggest in the world. Josko [Gvardiol] went there. But I’m happy here.”
City’s forthcoming transfer of Doku takes spending up to £158m for the summer. Mateo Kovacic and Gvardiol have come in to bolster a squad that has lost a number of players since the Champions League final with Aymeric Laporte the latest to leave.
