Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver has been flooded with supportive messages after admitting feeling 'exhausted' as she got to work on her new job away from the cobbles.
As fans of the ITV soap know, the actress is famed for playing Eileen Grimshaw in the long-running show. The character made her debut in the role in May 2000, with her first scenes alongside Emmerdale star Chris Bisson, who played Vikram Desai. However, it wasn’t her first role in the ITV soap as five years before she had played a hospital nurse who was present when Daniel Osbourne was born.
But it was revealed last year that Sue will be taking a temporary and brief break from Weatherifled in order to perform in the Olivier Award-nominated production of Sister Act The Musical. Sue will swap the Rovers for rosary beads as Mother Superior in the UK and Ireland tour, which will be heading to the Manchester Palace Theatre from March 18 to March 20, 2024.

Speaking about her new role at the time Sue said: "I’m thrilled to be stepping into the habit and joining the incredible company of Sister Act on tour. It’s been over 30 years since I’ve been on stage, but theatre has always been my first love. A chance to take on a role like this feels like heaven."
And now, the soap star has offered an update. On Thursday (February 22), Sue revealed she'd started rehearsals for the musical and posted a picture of herself at the Pineapple Dance Studios in London.
She captioned the photo of her sporting a matching purple tracksuit: "First intro into rehearsals for @sisteractsocial… First time in a Pineapple
