Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver has been labelled 'unrecognisable' as she unveiled her new look on Wednesday's Lorraine. The soap star, 60, who has played Eileen Grimshaw on the cobbles since 2000, has spoken openly about her three stone weight loss journey over the years and the terrifying health battles that have played a role. Appearing on Wednesday's Lorraine to talk about her new role in the touring Sister Act The Musical, where she is playing Mother Superior, the actress shared that she has 'come out of hiding'.
Sue joked that she has had all her hair cut off for the role as her character's costume and nun head covering is so heavy.
The actress said: "It's so heavy! I had to try it on, it is so heavy, that's why I've had all my hair cut off so it's a lot easier to put it on and off.' This led host Lorraine to talk about Sue's new look, commenting: "I have to say, you are looking smashing. You really are and I know you had a few health problems in the past but you are looking great. You are a woman in her prime! Do you feel that? "To which Sue admitted: "Yes, I do! I feel very much on a journey, I brought my son up, my priority was always my son.
Then I thought as soon as he's gone, it's my time, this is my decade. So he's gone [moved out], he's 28 now..." she jokingly added: "Love you, Elliot, don't come back!" Meanwhile, earlier this year, Sue appeared on Loose Women to talk about the 'shame' and 'judgement' she has been exposed to for losing weight, and explained it was largely down to a decline in her health. She said: "So now I just decided, I have hit 60, this decade is for me.
