Coronation Street's Alison King addresses Carla romance rumours as she names what soap 'needs'

Coronation Street star Alison King has addressed the possibility of her character getting a new love interest on the cobbles as fans desperately wait for Carla Connor to fall for one person and one person only.
Many viewers of the ITV soap have been beside themselves over scenes between Carla and DS Lisa Swain, played by Vicky Myers. Despite Swain being the reason Carla's friend Roy Cropper was behind bars, charged with the suspected murder of missing teen Lauren Bolton, Carla was seen being sympathetic to the stressed-out detective and mum.
In return for being a sympathetic ear, despite Carla lying about her nephew Bobby Crawford's false statement to the police about the night Lauren disappeared in a bid to help Roy, Swain encouraged the newly freed street stalwart to make amends with Carla before the Underworld boss offered Swain’s daughter some work experience.

With Carla's marriage to Peter Barlow coming to an end on over Christmas before his exit from Weatherfield, Corrie fans were hopeful that Carla and Swain could bond on a more romantic level.
But speaking in a new interview about what the future holds in terms of Carla’s love life, soap star Alison revealed that another relationship is the last thing on Carla’s mind.
"I don’t think she’s ready for another relationship at all and she’s definitely not got her eye on anybody," she said. "I don’t think she’s thought twice about it. I think it’s the last thing on her mind."
