Coronation Street airs beautiful gay church wedding scenes - but disaster looms for Billy Mayhew

There was a twist in store as Coronation Street aired its first - successful - gay wedding as Paul Foreman and Billy Mayhew finally got their church dream. Viewers of the ITV soap previously saw Paul disappointed to discover that he and archdeacon Billy couldn't have any religious music at their nuptials at the Bistro.
But to fulfil Billy's faith, and to show his love for his now-husband, Paul set about a plan to make sure they both got their own church wedding experience. It all began at No.5 with Gemma Winter-Brown and Bernie Winter helping Paul prepare for his wedding, whilst In the bistro, the wedding guests take their seats.
The moment, during Monday night's Corrie (October 2), then came for Bernie and Gemma to emotionally walk Paul down the aisle where Billy was waiting for him. Billy and Paul then exchanged vows with the registrar pronouncing them married but after the ceremony, Billy was shocked to discover his new husband had been keeping a secret from him.

Paul then suddenly produced some keys from his pocket and told Billy that if he fancied doing it all over again, he had found a vicar willing to marry them on the sly in a church leaving Billy stunned. He agreed and soon in the church, Bernie, Gemma, Todd Grimshaw and Dee-Dee Bailey watched as Billy and Paul exchanged vows while Summer Spellman proudly snapped away with her Polaroid camera.
After getting their dream moment together, Paul and Billy returned to the bistro and rejoined their wedding reception for the first dance. However, Corrie fans will have
