Lorraine Stanley is set to reprise her EastEnders role, with Karen Taylor returning to Albert Square following her son's disappearance. Karen had recently left Albert Square and moved to sunny Spain after she took the blame for kidnapping Albie, with residents of Walford later discovering that it was actually her son Keanu who was responsible for this.
Karen then made a dramatic exit from the Square after stealing Phil Mitchell's money, which he had loaned to Sharon to pay the ransom for Albie. However, despite only fleeing a few weeks ago, Karen is set to return along with a bag full of cash for Phil.
It's unclear just how long Karen will remain in the square, as she will likely prove rather unpopular among residents following the kidnapping and theft. Her return comes just weeks after her son was killed by Linda Carter, who stabbed him while he attempted to strangle his almost-wife Sharon Watts.
His death was then covered up, with Keanu being framed for attacking Nish Panesar, and his body buried under the cafe. Recent events mean that Karen could be left heartbroken following her return to the square, with two of her children now dead, and the revelation that Albie is in fact not her grandson.
Discussing her exit from the soap, Lorraine previously shared:"I just want people to remember her as the best mum on the square, a heart of gold, she'd give you her last fiver and would do anything for her kids - a bit like myself." She also shared a heartfelt message with her fans on social media, saying: "Hey everyone! I'm so grateful for all of your lovely messages this past week. "Thank you to Daran Little for creating the Taylors and to the BBC for giving me the opportunity to play such a fabulous character, I'll be sad to
