EastEnders fans believe they may have rumbled a huge twist on the horizon after Gina Knight and Dean Wicks’ secret romance was exposed during this week’s first visit to Walford. As regular viewers will know, Gina has been secretly dating rapist Dean Wicks - who brutally assaulted Linda Carter during his previous stint in Albert Square - but has kept things out of the spotlight so as not to upset her family, in particular her father George Knight who happens to be dating Linda’s mum Elaine! Given Dean’s history, much of Walford has been less than impressed with his return to the Square, but despite knowing the allegations against him, Gina declared that she believes him over Linda, in scenes that fans are convinced may be part of a bigger plot to expose his ways.
According to several fans on social media, they believe Gina is currently leading Dean on with the intention of showing his true colours and getting justice for Linda, however viewers are terrified that her plan will backfire and may lead to her sister Anna suffering instead. Sharing their thoughts online, one fan wrote: “Even if Gina is playing Dean…I see him acting out and hurting Anna - which will result in Gina feeling utmost despair cause it’s her job, she feels, to take care of her little sister.
I’ve felt it for a long time now. He’s going to end up hurting one of them.” A second fan also agreed, adding: “My theory is that he’ll victimise Anna rather than Gina, with Gina having to deal with having given him access to her, knowing full well what the accusations were.” Dean and Gina first began dating several weeks ago, but in Monday night’s episode (22 January) he took things to the next level by boldly revealing their romance after storming into the Queen
