BBC EastEnders legend makes surprise comeback in Death In Paradise - after 13 years away

A much-loved EastEnders star is making a TV comeback in a viewers' favourite TV show, after 13 years away from the series. Sean Maguire, who famously played Aidan Brosnan on EastEnders in 1993, is set to star in the brand-new series of Death in Paradise when it returns to our screens next month.
Sean will be reprising his role as Marlon Collins, who he played in the very first episode of the show back in 2011, to celebrate the its 100th episode on Sunday, 4 February.
The storyline will see Commissioner Selwyn Patterson being shot by an unknown assassin on the fictional island of Saint Marie, during a celebration for his 50 years in policing. Also appearing in the episode alongside regular star Ralf Little as DI Neville Parker will be Emmerdale's Andrea Hayworth actress Cathy Tyson and Leon Herbert, who's appeared in Ghosts.
Other guest actors this series include former EastEnders actress Kate Robbins, Hollyoaks and X Factor star Rachel Adedeji, and Kevin Garry from Ted Lasso. Over the past 20 years, 47 year old Sean has appeared as PC Sean McCartney in Scott & Bailey, Robin Hood in Once Upon A Time, Kyle Lendo in The Class and Lee Wilson in Sunburn, alongside another EastEnders legend, Michelle Collins – who returned to the soap last year.
But he's best known for starring as Aidan in EastEnders, appearing for a year in storylines including homelessness, drug abuse and suicide, as well as his relationship with character Mandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton). He also had a successful pop career in mid-1990s, with hits including Someone To Love and Now I've Found You – his biggest hit, Good Day, reached number 12 in May 1996.
