Alison Hammond briefly paused the latest episode of This Morning as she addressed an injury she picked up while working away from the popular show. The presenter was back fronting the ITV daytime programme on Wednesday (July 12) with Dermot O'Leary.
The pair are at the helm all week after Holly Willoughby started her eight-week annual summer holiday after her last show of the week last Thursday (July 6). Alison and Dermot's appearance on the show comes ITV bosses shut down reports of them having an 'increasingly strained relationship' off camera.
And Alison, 48, also cheekily addressed the claims on social media. Dermot, 50, took to Instagram with a photo of the pair posing in the This Morning studio on the famous sofa. "Summer’s here!" he started the caption of his post to his 795K followers.

He then added: "Looking forward to this week with my @alisonhammond55 - we’re on from 10am!" And Alison was quick to take to the comments section where she wrote: "Cut the tension with a knife," alongside a crying laughing emoji.
And her comment was quickly flooded with crying laughing emojis from fans when Alison's makeup artist Mikey Phillips joked: "It’s SEXUAL."
But despite the rumours, Alison and Dermot have been cracking on with their presenting duties as normal. However, there was an unexpected start to Alison and Dermot's third show in charge this week as Alison announced after their usual welcome came with a she high-five. She asked Dermot: "Did you notice how I could only slap you with that one? I've had an injury with my thumb."
