Cat Deeley is reportedly being lined up to be a stand-in presenter for Ant McPartlin on the latest series of Britain's Got Talent. The TV competition’s live shows are set to air in the summer, with the This Morning presenter said to be on standby if Ant needed to suddenly rush off. According to the Sun, ITV Cat would be drafted in as a guest host in the event of Ant not being available.
A TV source said: “They are considering whether Dec would present alone…Cat and Stephen, who the lads have worked with in the past, are front-runners.” Cat has previous presenting experience with the Geordie duo having hosted SMTV with Ant and Dec from 1998-2001. Stephen also regularly appears on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Live. OK! contacted ITV for comment.
It comes as Ant recently addressed why he and Dec will be taking a break from hosting Saturday Night Takeaway. Revealing the pair needed to spend more time at home. He told Fault Magazine: “We have both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit.
We need time to think and, and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and just see where we are now.” Dec shares his two children Isla, five and Jack, one, with his wife Ali Astall. Meanwhile, Ant’s wife Anne-Marie has two children from her previous marriage. It comes as a source told OK! how Ant is now 'ready to enter a new chapter of his life' with his wife Anne-Marie by his side as the star prepares to devote more time to a family life that he once thought was out of reach.
