A Scots police officer has been convicted of stripping a woman and sexually assaulting her after she returned from a night-out with pals.
Johnathan Dunlop groped the woman’s breasts in the living room of his Edinburgh flat as she prepared to go to sleep.
The woman told how she was naked and “frozen” as the 32-year-old constable carried out the attack.
She said Dunlop later begged her not to tell anyone what happened and told her: “I hate the way you are looking at me.”
Dunlop was on trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court where he denied the charges against him.
He previously took to the witness stand and told the court how the woman consented to sexual activity.
But Sheriff Julius Komorowski rejected his story as “false” and found him guilty of two charges on Friday.
The sheriff said shamed Dunlop could have had “no reasonable belief” that she consented.
Sheriff Komorowski said the victim had given a “compelling and careful account” and was “honest and reliable”.
