It is the only LGBT gay village in Europe that’s actually on two streets that you can walk around. It’s concentrated. No other city has this, and that’s what sells Manchester’s gay village, and that’s what in turn sells Manchester — we should be very proud of it.
Where’s your favourite hidden gem?
That would be — oh I forgot the name! It’s just off Deansgate, I’ve been going there for 20 years, and all the city players go there. El Rincon, it was one of the first in the city.
It’s Spanish-owned with Spanish staff, the food is excellent. It’s not changed one-bit — fads come and go, but there’s stayed true.
What’s your favourite view of the city or in the city?
Either 20 Stories or Hotel Gotham. They do a lovely outside seating area with a lovely view on both sides with a lovely cream
