The Manchester United takeover process will run into the new season with little clarity over what the Glazers intend to do.
Some believe the owners will stay in situ, much to the fear of many fans. Meanwhile, others take the stance that as long as United is on the market, then a sale is still a possibility.
The process is now into its eighth month. It has not affected United’s transfer plans with around £163m spent on players this summer, once Rasmus Hojlund’s arrival is confirmed. And several United stars have received new contracts, including Marcus Rashford.
However, the lack of certainty over the club’s future ownership is still unsettling for supporters. Both Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe remain in the race, having vowed to make transformative changes.

However, the saga is tiring United fans, who are desperate for a conclusion to be reached. Here are the latest headlines regarding the takeover.
Contrary to reports elsewhere this week, The Mail says takeover negotiations are still ongoing with 'multiple parties' amid a view for a full sale or partial investment.
There were fears that takeover talks had been paused from the view of one bidder, but the article claims that they need not worry.
Sheikh Jassim wishes a complete 100 per cent takeover while Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants a majority stake buy-out. Both bidders are said to have tabled offers of around £5billion, lower than the Glazers' £6bn valuation.
Those in the Qatari camp, the report says, are confident of winning the race. INEOS sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford said Ratcliffe is also hopeful of being successful too.
