Owen Hargreaves believes Rasmus Hojlund can ‘easily’ score 25 goals in his debut Manchester United season given the quality service he will receive from five teammates.
Hojlund - who has completed his medical ahead of Saturday's unveiling - netted 16 times for Atalanta last season, of which nine came in Serie A. The 20-year-old arrives on a £64million deal with an extra £8m in potential add-ons, having arrived in Italy for £13m a year ago.
Some believe the striker, who scored five times in two Denmark matches in March, will take a number of weeks to settle into Premier League football. However, TNT Sports pundit Hargreaves believes Hojlund will breeze past the 20-goal mark before May.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, he said: “Erik ten Hag is trying to improve every area on the pitch and if you look at the turn Marcus Rashford took last year and Hojlund - I think he’ll come in and will at least get 25 goals, easy, with the service in behind him with Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount, Jadon Sancho, Antony.

“I think goal scoring was their biggest issue. If you look at Hojlund’s numbers, he doesn’t score goals outside of the box, he’s in the box and that’s what I like - you know, trust the boys to get the ball to you. Like Erling Haaland does, get in the box and finish things off and I think in that sense he’s going to be a great fit.”
Hargreaves insists that “one guy can’t be the answer” for all of United’s scoring needs but is excited by the prospect of Hojlund at Old Trafford in this United team.
