A few thousand fans made the trip to the impressive National Stadium to watch the players train today, it’ll be a full house when they face Yokohama F Marinos tomorrow.
City have sold out all three matches as part of their summer schedule, and their support levels in this country are only going to rise in the years ahead.
Almost every fan in the stadium was wearing club colours, while the few who weren’t chose to wear their iconic national team shirt, on a day when Japan set the standards at the ongoing Women’s World Cup.
Of all the shirts I saw, the name of Kevin de Bruyne was by far the most popular choice for fans to have on their back. Even in this star-studded squad spoiled for superstars, he is the one he stands out the most.
