Rico Lewis is set to sign a new and improved contract following his breakthrough season with Man City. The 18-year-old will be rewarded with a new deal as a reflection of his meteoric rise over the last year.
Lewis made 23 appearances across all competitions and shone in particular for his versatility as both a full-back and a defensive midfielder.
The Manchester Evening News understands he will shortly sign a new deal that will reflect his new status in the squad and reward him for his hard work so far.
Lewis was one of four changes made to the City side as they beat Bayern Munich in their second pre-season fixture on Wednesday.

The teenage defender joined City at the age of eight and made his senior debut early last season in a Premier League win over Bournemouth.

The Manchester Evening News understands talks have been underway for some time, and although there is still no timeframe on when an agreement could be reached, they are in a good place to extend his stay.
