This Morning's Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary have broken their silence about the new hosts joining them on ITV. It's finally been confirmed that Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley are taking over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as the main show presenters.
Ben and Cat will start hosting next month, with Ben set to leave his spot on Good Morning Britain to join This Morning. When the show started on Friday morning, Alison and Dermot revealed their excitement as the news was finally announced.
Dermot says that he has known both Ben and Cat for ages, while Alison said it's "so nice" they're joining the team. At the beginning of the episode, Ben was seen walking around the studio, putting up pictures of him and Cat on the walls of the iconic This Morning corridor with the other presenters.
He then looked at the camera and said: "See you soon!" Alison and Dermot then joyfully welcomed the two, saying: "Welcome to the family" and Alison said: "We are so happy, it's finally out, the news is finally out." Ben and Cat are going to start hosting This Morning in March.
They will be on from Monday to Thursday, with Alison and Dermot hosting on Fridays. Ben talked about how excited he is to join the show, saying: "This really feels like a very special moment for Cat and I to be part of the next chapter of This Morning.
