ITV bosses are said to be holding live auditions to find the perfect star to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning.
The 42-year-old quit her role in the award-winning morning show, after police foiled an alleged plot to 'kidnap and murder' the presenter. ITV bosses have since said that they are still hoping to work with Holly "in the future" but she is not set to return to This Morning.
Now it's being reported that the team behind the show will hold live auditions to find Holly's replacement on the This Morning sofa in the coming weeks. Presenter Josie Gibson, 38, currently hosts a couple of shows a week, but she is set to go to Australia to work alongside Ant and Dec on I'm A Celebrity...
Get Me Out Of Here! It's said that executives will use her absence as an opportunity to audition for a presenter to take over when the programme is relaunched in the new year. Sources at the network say that they will 'test the chemistry and likeability' of a number of potential anchors, the Daily Mail reports.
The sources said that they are looking for a woman as they hope to still sign Ben Shephard, 48, to take over Phillip Schofield's role in January.
One insider told the Mail: "There will be a mix of different hosts over the coming weeks as bosses screen test various contenders, some who will have been on the show before and some won't. "There is a great existing pool of presenters both male and female who have featured before but bosses will also be looking outside of the show to try potential new faces out.
