Former I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! star Vincent Simone has admitted he used to beg the show's crew to sneak him food during his time in the Australian jungle. The 44 year old professional dancer, who was a pro on Strictly Come Dancing from 2006 to 2012, starred on I'm A Celebrity in 2013, where he lasted 11 days. In an exclusive chat with OK!, Vincent, who is speaking on behalf of ICE36, shared some jungle secrets ahead of the return of I'm A Celebrity on Sunday, 19 November.
There's a stellar line-up for the show this year, including This Morning's Josie Gibson, Made in Chelsea's Sam Thompson, UK politician Nigel Farage, and even Britney Spears' younger sister, Jamie Lynn. Speaking to OK!, Vincent revealed the toughest parts about being on the show - as he debunked many a fan theory that the celebrities in the jungle are given extra food off-camera. The celebs famously live on rations, with basics including rice and beans, as Vincent revealed how he lost a kilo of weight and was left begging the show crew to "sneak me a biscuit".
"I lost a kilo in the jungle - and I'm already tiny," he tells us. "When I was on the show, I knew a lot of the runners in the crew from my time on Strictly Come Dancing. "I remember saying to them numerous times 'come on, give me a biscuit, I won't tell a soul' but they said 'no' because they'd get the sack.
"It's insane to be there in the jungle with that little food, but it is the truth that you don't get any extra given to you behind the scenes." Vincent describes being in the Australian jungle as a "surreal experience" but says it's a "once in a lifetime" one. He explains: "You don't have a watch. You don't have a phone.
