Holly Willoughby fights tears on This Morning and says 'it's hard' after tribute to co-star following second death in weeks

Holly Willoughby appeared choked up on This Morning after sharing a friend's health dilemma which also came after news of a second death from within the show's team in just a couple of weeks. It came as the presenter returned to the helm of the ITV daytime show on Tuesday (September 19) alongside Craig Doyle.
Early into the show they were seen discussing the latest news headlines with Gyles Brandreth and Sonia Sodha in the daily 'This Morning's View' segment. One of the stories the group spoke about was upcoming strikes as thousands of junior doctors and consultants are set to join the picket lines together for the first time.
Consultants will also walk out on Wednesday (September 20), when they will be joined by junior doctors in the first joint strike in the history of the NHS. Junior doctors, who have held 19 days of strike action since March, will then continue their strike on Thursday and Friday this week.

Both consultant and junior doctor members of the British Medical Association (BMA) will again join forces for strikes on October 2, 3 and 4. It means that thousands of operations and appointments have been cancelled as a result of the strikes, with NHS leaders warning that some patients are seeing their appointments rescheduled three times.
