A trampoline park manager who was sacked for whistleblowing has been awarded more than £54,000 in compensation. George Gallagher had been living off benefits after being left out of work when he left his role at Flip Out Glasgow.
The 61-year-old had been at the fun house for five years but was let go weeks after him and his colleagues submitted a collective grievance about the company "failing in its legal obligations".
And he has now been awarded the windfall by a tribunal judge who found that he had been unfairly dismissed under the guise of redundancy.
Glasgow Live reports that he worked for JOA Leisure Limited for several years before it was bought by Flip Out Ltd in 2021 for £2 million and had a clean disciplinary record.

They raised a collective grievance and whistleblowing complaint which was later rejected by bosses. The new owners then "re-set" the senior management roles at Flip Out Glasgow, reducing the number of managers from three to two.
They informed their staff of the changes four days after the grievance was lodged on April 21, 2022. The new roles offered had reduced pay and bonus payments, and no free meals or company car, as they had previously.
After one boss took voluntary redundancy "in an attempt to protect his colleagues jobs", Mr Gallagher's employment was still terminated and he took the company to an employment tribunal.
He stated that he didn't believe there was a "genuine redundancy situation", claiming the redundancy process was a "cover for the desire to remove him from his employment".
