A gas leak in Edinburgh city centre has sparked an emergency evacuation of at least 45 flats.

A car flipped onto its roof and destroyed a bus shelter in Edinburgh.
Police were alerted to the two-vehicle crash at around 4:25pm today, Monday, September 4.
Police closed down the road and local traffic was diverted while the vehicle was recovered but reopened around 6:25pm.
The Record understands there were no injuries.
An image from the scene shows the red vehicle lying on its roof on the middle of the road, with police officers on the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 4.25pm on Monday, 4 September, to a report of a crash on Inverleith Row in Edinburgh.
“The road was closed for vehicle recovery and re-opened around 6.25pm.”
