Gerard Pique says former Bolton Wanderers and Real Madrid defender Fernando Hierro was his favourite player as a child as he highlighted Manchester United and Barcelona legends too as big influences.
The 35-year-old has been with boyhood club Barca since 2008, after he moved back to the Catalan giants from United, who had signed him as a youngster following his release from the Camp Nou.
Pique won the Premier League and Champions League in 2008 with United before moving back to his native Spain. He has won all the top honours in the game with both club and country since then.

Pique has picked up eight La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues, seven Copa del Reys, three UEFA Super Cups, three FIFA Club World Cups and six Supercopa de Espanas.
The centre half has spoken of his favourite players as a youngster and pinpointed former Real and Bolton defender Hierro as the one he looked up to in his youth.
Hierro won five La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns before leaving for Qatar's Al-Rayyan in 2003. However, he was persuaded to join Wanderers the following year for a season in the Premier League under Sam Allardyce.
The former Spain international played more than 30 times for Bolton and scored once before retiring from playing in 2005.
Pique, speaking on the Overlap with Gary Neville, pinpointed Hierro as his favourite player growing up, but also former United team-mate Rio Ferdinand and Barca duo Carles Puyol and Gabriel Milito as big influences too.
