Emmerdale fans have worked out that a devastating plot twist could be ahead for Chas Dingle (played by Lucy Pargeter) and her son Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), who currently aren't on speaking terms. The mum and son, who were once incredibly close, saw their relationship in tatters after Liv Flaherty's (Isobel Steele) death, as Aaron blamed his mum for what happened. While Aaron has carried on going off the rails since his return to the village, that is likely all about to change as Dr Liam Cavanagh found a lump in Chas's breast amid their lunchtime tryst.
The duo ended up sleeping together in the doctor's home, which led to the local doctor discovering the worrying mass. While Liam did his best to reassure Chas that it could be a cyst or any number of non-cancerous things, we know that the pub landlord is diagnosed in future episodes. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person guessed that Aaron could continue to ice his mum out and leave her dealing with her cancer without him, something which he'll come to hugely regret.
What's more, after losing his sister and grandmother Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter), Aaron could struggle to cope at all if he ends up losing his mum too. Others sense that the estranged family members will finally heal their rift. One person said: "Chas has breast cancer I bet #Emmerdale" "Poor poor Chas #Emmerdale," another fan sobbed.
A third predicted: "Oh no so either Aaron is finally going to forgive his mum when he finds out or will regret not patching things up with her forever #emmerdale" While a fourth person said: "Oh Aaron, how bad will it get till it get´s better. I'm so sad for him. Danny is absolutely brilliant though! #emmerdale", followed by: "Well I didn't expect that!" Producer
